would my eye look any differant lol?
I was born liek that one eye lid lower than the other one i dont like it GRR!

There would be some discomfort but no real pain. I've had about 10 surgeries including eyelid surgery and cataract surgery on my eyes and none of the surgeries were painful. Make sure you go to a board certified plastic surgeon. Your doctor would give you a better idea of what your eye would look like after surgery. Good luck. 2D

my mum, dad and brother are all 100% chinese and have natural double lids, however, i don't. I am the only part of my family that doesn't and even my mum says that she's been looking for my double lids since i was born… (she's ok with plastic surgery, she had a face lift herself)

Do you think i should get it?

me too! im the only one in my family who doesnt have double eyelids…
wel plastic sergery is fine.. but if i were u than i would use double eyelid glue
of fiber or tape.
they work great for me

im planning to have my surgery when i go back to Hong Kong, bu just one thing that is bothering me…I just want to know… is it true that u hav to be awake for the surgery? some people say they inject shots TO YOUR EYELIDS?! will i be awake for that part?..cuz i cannot imagine the needle poking into my eye lol. thats just like the movie saw -3-

If you are having the surgery where they change one-line eyelids (asian style) to two-line eyelids (western style), it is a pretty minor surgery, there is no reason to do total anestesia (expensive, more risky and unnecessary). The injections are probably very shallow beneath the skin surface, probably near where the eyelids connect to the nose. I don't believe any needles are going to be stuck in your eye balls !

hey so i want to get lase eye surgery…i like my glasses but its annoying that i cant wear sunglasses :P…well i can but then i cant see well :P)
so how much does it roughly cost…i live in c anada…will health care cover it???

First…you don't have a stigma…you have astigmatism…it's one word.

Second, your friend is pulling your leg, or she is dreaming, because that is impossible to happen. A contact lens cannot go behind the eye. No one has ever needed surgery to remove a contact lens, that is plain false.

Yes, of course laser surgery works, it's been around for almost 20 years now. They can also correct astigmatism.

No, it's not covered by insurance and costs usually $ 1000.00 to $1500.00 per eye.

You have to be over 18 and preferably in your early to mid 20's because your vision has to be stable for at least 2 years with no changes.

All laser centers offer free consultations to see if you are a candidate , so if you are old enough to start with , you could give a clinic a call and set up an appointment.
